Ty Cobb set the Major League Baseball record for the highest career batting average in history. He failed to get a hit 6 out of every 10 times. Whether the game is baseball, poker, or stock picking, nobody is perfect. Some of the biggest logic criminals believe that an expert can never be wrong, or that the hot shots on Wall Street are out to get the little guy. The truth is, experts are very often wrong; some people even contend that experts are wrong about topics of their expertise more often than the average person. As for the motive of Wall Street hooligans, we may never know what they’re really thinking.
Nevertheless, believing that someone’s opinion is more or less credible because they are an expert or because they have some motive is silly. If good arguments are presented, it shouldn’t matter who said them, so long as they make sense. My only goal for this blog is to tell you what I’m thinking about the market and try to make arguments for making certain market plays. I disclose all of my positions because if you unintelligently choose to buy stocks simply because I do, at least I will take the fall along with you.
I hope my ideas about the market can help you find your way; but I hope that you do your own due diligence. If you don’t, I guarantee you will regret it.
